Zulekha Healthcare Group has today announced its major UAE growth plans for Dubai and Sharjah. The plan will see an expansion at Zulekha Hospital in Dubai and an introduction of a new hospital in the Emirate of Sharjah. The announcement has been made just before Arab Health 2018 following a successful 25 years for the Group in the UAE – which was celebrated in November 2017. Arab Health 2018 is taking place at Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre between 29th January – 1st February 2018.
The expansion plans come in line with the UAE’s Vision 2021 for continual investment to build world-class healthcare infrastructure, expertise and services to be able to meet the growing needs of its citizens. Commenting on the expansion, Mr. Taher Shams, Managing Director of Zulekha Healthcare Group, said, “This year’s Arab Health marks an important milestone for us as we are pleased to be able to announce two major expansions in the UAE that remain to serve the citizens of this country and support the UAE’s Vision 2021.

Additionally, Zulekha Healthcare Group will be hosting an INNO robot this year at Arab Health, assisting visitors with information of the Group’s services and organisation as a whole. The Group is introducing Robotic pharmacies as well in order to improve efficiencies in administrative tasks, data collections and customer engagements.
Following the completion of the Zulekha Hospital Dubai expansion, the hospital will have an additional 60 inpatient beds, operation theatre arrangements, emergency services and labour rooms, taking its total capacity to 179 beds in 2018. This expansion will give way to the development of multiple centres of excellence. Apart from a comprehensive Oncology Care Unit with radiation therapy bunkers and surgical theatres, the building will provide space for additional Cath labs as well.
Sub-specialties providing services with respect to Paediatric Nephrology and Paediatric Cardiology will be available in the extended facility alongside Histopathology, Fetal Medicine and Neurosurgery. Moreover, the extension is planned to have a Trauma Care Unit, IVF Clinic and Diabetes Clinic.
In the Emirate of Sharjah, the group is planning the launch of its India brand in UAE as well as The original Alexis Hospital, in Nagpur, India – under the umbrella of Zulekha Healthcare Group – has witnessed a very successful foray into the Indian market following the announcement of its opening during Arab health 2017. The Group will be introducing this brand into the UAE with a 150-bed facility that will deliver customised services to diverse communities in the region.
During the year, the Group has established several Centres of Excellence in Alexis Hospital in India including Cardiology, Oncology, Mother and Child Care, Orthopaedics and many other specialities. It will continue to focus on making high-end services in Neurology, Ophthalmology, General & Laparoscopic Surgery, Urology & Nephrology, Sports Medicine, Dialysis and Critical Care available.
