Design and build Dubai ferry stations according to the green buildings standards
Marine Agency at Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) recently finalized the design of 4 ferry station in Dubai Creek – phase 1 as follows: v Gold Souq Station. v City Center Station. v Al Ghubaiba Station. v Union Square Station. The launching of these stations will be in two phases: v First phase will cover Gold Souq station and City Center Station. v Second phase will cover Al Ghubaiba station and Union Square station. The project aims to: v Facilitate the movement of the public through the services provided at the Ferry stations. v To meet the highest global standards applicable in this regard and the strategic objectives of the board, to provide the best option for movement and access in order to achieve the Road and Transport vision by providing "Safe and Smooth Transport for all". v Protect the environment and preservation of public heritage. Green buildings standards: These ferry stations consider to meet the requirements and standards of green building standards, in line with the guidance of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum UAE Prime Minister and Vice president, and Ruler of Dubai to make the Dubai green city, and confirmation of the leading role of roads and transport authority in environmental conservation through: v Increase energy efficiency. v Efficient use of water. v Development and sustainable development of projects. v Choose environmentally friendly building materials. Integration plan for Dubai Ferry stations – phase 1: All Ferry stations - phase 1 designed to accommodate 2,500 passengers per station, it will be integrated with other public transport modes such as Metro and public buses to the objective of providing all the convenience to the passengers.
