Serving as the centerpiece of Dubai Healthcare City’s Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Academic Medical Center and as the core of a fully integrated regional healthcare network, University Hospital will define a new standard for healthcare excellence in the region, with the latest advances in clinical care, exceptional educational resources for physicians, nurses and healthcare professionals, and robust biomedical, clinical & health services research programs. The 400 bed tertiary medical center is developed by Tatweer, a subsidiary of Dubai Holding. The hospital will offer comprehensive programmes across a wide range of specializations, including Oncology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Musculoskeletal Health and Orthopaedics, as well as Cardiovascular and Thoracic Services. These will be in addition to core programmes such as Dermatology, Gastroenterology, Neonatology, ENT, OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Urology, Reconstructive Surgery, General Surgery, and General Medicine. It will also include a state-of-the-art complex for kidney and lever transplantation.Opening in 2011, University Hospital will occupy 1.4 million square feet of program space offering access to a full range of diagnostic, therapeutic, and experimental modalities and cutting edge technology. When ready, University Hospital will be the largest healthcare facility in the uAE.
