Membership of the UGA falls into 3 categories
• Club Affiliate membership - All members of U.A.E Golf Clubs are automatically members of the UGA and subscription dues are collected by the clubs with annual membership.
• Affiliate membership - Members receive all the privileges of membership except a Handicap/playing privilege.
• UGA Handicap Scheme - Members receive all the privileges of b) above plus a Handicap/playing privilege that is administered according to the CONGU (Council of National Golf Unions) and LGU (Ladies Golf Union) Handicap systems. In addition, regular monthly golf days are organised for these UGA Handicap Scheme members.
Privileges of UGA are generally golf related and include
• Privileged rates for green fees, lessons and Pro Shop purchases at UAE golf clubs
• Privileged prices on range balls at selected clubs in UAE golf clubs
• Privileged access to Professional Golf Tournaments held in the U.A.E.
• Privileged prices on golf and other sporting equipment at selected retail outlets.
• In addition to the above privileges, Handicap Scheme members receive an official handicap (conditions apply) administered along the guidelines of CONGU handicap system, which is accepted worldwide for handicap purposes and opportunity to play in regular Handicap Scheme Monthly Medals.
