Dubai Economy, in cooperation with the Dubai Institute for Human Resources Development (DIHRD) at the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR), organised a virtual graduation ceremony for the first batch of the Dubai Economy Leadership Diploma Programme (7), fifth batch of the Commercial Compliance & Consumer Protection (CCCP) Diploma Programme (13), and the second batch of the Business Registration and Licensing (BRL) Diploma Programme(8).
The ceremony, which was attended by Their Excellencies Sami Al Qamzi, Director General of Dubai Economy, andAbdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of DGHR, as well as other senior officials also saw lecturers and facilitators of thethree programmesbeing honoured.
Al Qamzi said: “His HighnessSheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai has said that “The government’s most valuable capital is its employees.”We at Dubai Economy seek to build and develop the capabilities of our employees, and provide resources that bring about a qualitative change in their job performance in line withthe leadership's vision to achieve the highest levels of excellence, and effectively contribute to the overall performance of their respective government entity.”
Praisingthe determination and persistence of the Emiratis, Al Falasi said: “Our leadership is keen to help Emiratisqualify and lead future government work, armed with a scientific temper and knowledge. Developing our human capital by providing them with knowledge and skills is the top priority for the Dubai Government Human Resources Department.”
The diploma programmes are intended to develop personal and leadership skills, and strengthen the administrative capabilities of second and third-tier employeesof Dubai Economy and its agencies. They also aim to equip an elite group of qualified personnelwith basic knowledge and skills to carry out all tasks relating to the role and mandate of Dubai Economy in such a way that enhancesDubai’s reputation as agateway to global competitiveness and sustainability.
The‘Dubai Economy Leadership Diploma’was launched in 2019 in cooperation with DIHRD, and it was accredited as per the standards of the Institute. The programme focuses on enhancing personal and leadership abilities and providing the necessary skills and knowledge to empower future leaders. Applied professional learning has a share of more than 70% in the programme.
The CCCP diploma, which was also launched in cooperation with DIHRD in 2017, seeks to raise performance and productivity, provide employees with the skills needed for field and office work, avoid inspection errors, ensure customer happiness (traders and consumers), train new inspectors,ensure compliance with business regulations, protect consumers and intellectual property, and help maintain a competitive economic environment in Dubai.The programme targets new and old employees inCCCP. A total of 87 trainees have benefited from the programme since its launch.
Launched in 2018 in co-operation with DIHRD, business registration and licensing diploma programme aims to prepare a cadre equipped with the knowledge and capabilities to carry out all tasks associated withbusiness registration and licensing in Dubai. Vocational education has a weightage of not less than 70% in the programme. A total of 20 trainees have benefited from the diploma since its launch.
