Dubai Healthcare City’s strategic partner the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery Hospital (AACSH) has appointed its first board of trustees to advance its medical tourism portfolio and overall healthcare delivery.
The newly formed board will develop a road map to achieve the Hospital’s vision of becoming a global referral center for all cosmetic aesthetic and plastic reconstructive services advancing their medical tourism portfolio.
The announcement was made at the Hospital’s 12th anniversary celebration ceremony on November 11. Since its establishment, according to the hospital’s data, more than 40 per cent of AACSH’s patient visits are medical travelers.
Dr. Ramadan AlBlooshi, Chief Regulatory Officer, Dubai Healthcare City Authority, said, “The Hospital’s commitment towards quality healthcare has improved the lives of thousands of patients from more than 150 countries. The Hospital’s focus on medical tourism and its future vision to advance this portfolio will further strengthen Dubai Healthcare City and Dubai as destination of choice for medical tourists.”
The new Board is formed by members of the UAE community across different sectors including the legal, medical and education field. The Board members are Dr. Zuhair Al Fardan, President of the Emirates Plastic Surgery Society and Assistant Professor at the UAE university, Essam Al Tamimi, Founder of Al Tamimi & Company; Mariam Othman, Director General at Rashid Center for the Determined Ones; Dr. Khaled Al Nuaimi, Founder of MEIDAM Conferences and Dr Adam Bader, CEO at AACSH.
Dr. Jeehan Abdul Qadir, founder of AACSH, said “Since the inception of the hospital we have succeeded at being the only cosmetic hospital in the UAE with both a JCI accreditation and an international affiliation that offer elective aesthetic, all form of aesthetic medical services and reconstructive surgeries. From the start, the hospital has established a successful medical tourism program and the new board will work towards a medical tourism strategy that is aligned with Dubai Government’s vision, to advance our medical tourism offerings as we expand our services.”
The Board will also work towards establishing a mechanism to engage different government stakeholders to develop policies that improve the healthcare delivery such as advocating the approval of evidence-based innovative medical services.
