The Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies (EIBFS), a regional leader in banking & finance education and training, and the Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to exchange knowledge and experiences in the field of banking, economics and financial literacy related to the banking and finance sector.
Jamal Al Jassmi, General Manager of EIBFS, and HE Justice Dr. Jamal Al Sumaiti, Director General of Dubai Judicial Institute, recently signed the agreement at the EIBFS Dubai campus, in the presence of other dignitaries and officials.
The MoU mandates the two parties to leverage and participate in the activities organised by the respective institutes, exchange expertise during training events on subjects related to commercial law, corporate law, bankruptcy law and tax laws.
The MoU also enables the two institutes to cooperate and organise activities of common interest, such as conferences and seminars in the legal field. The two institutes will also establish a technical committee to follow-up on the implementation of the memorandum.
Jamal Al Jassmi said: "Collaborating with other institutions to build a better and knowledgeable workforce is imperative in today's ever-evolving landscape. Our partnership with the Dubai Judicial Institute will benefit both our institutes in creating frameworks, sharing resources and knowledge, building a better workforce capacity and better understanding of the financial and legal practices."
He added: "This partnership also reinforces our commitment to providing a holistic approach to the education and banking professionals. It is important for individuals working in the finance sector to be aware of the legal systems. Through our MoU with DJI, we hope to continue to bring world-class education to the workforce. We believe that this agreement will allow us to discover new and mutually beneficial ways to collaborate for the wider enhancement of the industry."
For his part, HE Justice Dr Jamal Al Sumaiti said: "Signing the memorandum of understanding with the Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies comes as part of our ongoing efforts to collaborate with academic institutions across the UAE to provide students and academics with specialised legal and judicial knowledge, help them carry prestigious qualifications that allow them to join the various work sectors, and perform their roles optimally to support the development process in the UAE. Coming in line with the UAE's agendas and future strategies, this agreement is of great importance for the exchange of experts, provides training programmes, and strengthens cooperation with EIBFS by holding conferences and seminars as part of our efforts to expand our network of relations with institutions in the public and private sectors."
With its comprehensive training courses in the field of finance and banking, including Islamic finance, EIBFS is at the forefront of advanced financial education and capacity-building. The institute has partnered with specialist training and technology solutions providers in the USA and Europe to equip finance professionals with the latest expertise.
