DXB Entertainments PJSC (DFM: DXBE) today announced that Dubai Parks and Resorts, the region’s largest integrated theme park destination, attracted over 1.80 million visits during the first nine months of 2019, with over 42% coming from international markets, compared to 40% during the same period in the prior year.
In Q3 2019, Dubai Parks and Resorts attracted 401 thousand visits, compared to 501 thousand for the same period last year. The decline was primarily due to a reduction in visitation from the resident market which as previously stated, is not unusual for a destination such as Dubai Parks and Resorts in its second full year of operations.
Mohamed Almulla, CEO and Managing Director, DXB Entertainments, said “During the first nine months of the year we attracted more than 1.80 million visits to the destination. Importantly, we are progressing with our strategy of shifting the visitor mix in favour of more international visitors with 42% of visits now coming from international markets.
“Lapita™ Hotel maintained its average occupancy at 60% in the first nine months of the current year.
“We continue to receive positive feedback for our key assets. MOTIONGATE™ Dubai was awarded the best theme park in the UAE and the LEGOLAND® Water Park was awarded the best water park in the UAE at the Time Out Kids Awards 2019.
“Looking ahead, we are gearing up for a busy fourth quarter, with a variety of activities and events planned for the last months of the year.”
