To mark World Blood Donor Day, Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) organized, yesterday, its 13th blood donation drive to help meet the demand for blood in the UAE and raise awareness of the need for regular blood donations.
The drive, organized in collaboration with the Dubai Blood Donation Center, was held at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Academic Medical Center, attracting more than 95 people from across the DHCC community, including DHCC employees and other professionals working in the free zone. A total of 62 units, equal to roughly 36 litres, were collected during the drive.
Each year, on June 14, World Blood Donor Day is observed around the world to shed the light on the importance of safe blood, regular blood donation, and to celebrate donors for their life-saving gift of blood.
