The Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge are proving to be a huge success among the cyclists with more and more participants taking part each time. Over 500 cyclists took part in the 65km Build-Up Ride 2 which was held this morning at the Al Qudra Cycle Track.
Upon speaking with several participants, it was evident that the reason behind the huge turnout is the fact that the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge has structured rides with increasing distances to give athletes a means to test their fitness levels and evaluate their progress in their road to prepare for the final 100km race in November.
Participants, spectators and all families who attended the event enjoyed the lively and festive atmosphere with several fun activities hosted by SKODA and Fitness First, combined with delicious breakfast treats and smoothies from Spinneys Dubai. All cyclists were given refreshing sports drinks from SKODA in the Spinneys Village to beat the heat from the 65km ride!
Mohammed Al Dhaeri, the GM of the SKODA brand at Ali and Sons said: "We are very proud of all the riders participating today. Great dedication to cycling is something we can connect to as cycling has been in our genes for over 120 years. To appreciate this dedication and to support starting riders we have decided to offer a chance of winning a professional grade bike worth over 10.000 AED in a simple social media competition. This way anyone can win with us and get complete cycling gear including apparel from head to toe."
For the younger cyclists in Dubai, the Prime Medical Center Junior Rides will take place on the 28th of November at the Dubai Autodrome. The Junior Rides have been divided into three different categories (2.5km, 15km and 30km) for all children between the ages of 6-15 years to compete and challenge themselves in this sport.
The last of the three build-up rides will take place on the 1st of November with cyclists taking part in an 85km ride as a practice for the final 100km race which will be held at the Dubai Autodrome on the 29th of November.
For all cyclists who wish to register in any of the upcoming Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge events but do not have a bike or helmets, there are plenty of rental options mentioned in the registration process. Alternatively, the team from Revolution Cycles Dubai will be on-site as always to ensure that all participants have their race kits and gear before the ride and will also offer assistance to all those who need a little extra something on the day.
