Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently held its open day for Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) 2019 for the fifth year in a row. Expert lecturers from RTA and stakeholders shed light on the subject matter and highlighted RTA’s efforts in this field. Nasser Abu Shehab, CEO of RTA’s Strategy and Corporate Governance, attended the gathering along with scores of employees and concerned individuals.
“Experts from RTA and beyond shared their knowledge and expertise with RTA during our Open HSE Day 2019. HSE is becoming increasingly vital and RTA’s top management is keen to keep pace with the government’s drive in this score,” said Nada Jasim, Director of Safety, Risk Regulation & Planning Department.
Several sessions and lectures were held tackling several HSE aspects such as the use of artificial intelligence in analysing big data at the Operations Control Centre of Dubai Taxi Corporation. Other topics receiving big focus were the shift from the construction phase to operation phase of Route 2020 Project, safety in construction, migration to environmental-friendly vehicles, and the safety of novice drivers in Dubai.
“The three-day activities included site visits to RTA’s operation centres for several projects where information relating to the HSE was shared of their particular sites. The purpose of these visits was to embed such knowledge as corporate culture and raise the environmental awareness of those employees,” concluded Jasim.
