In a milestone celebration held in Dubai last week, 51 graduates from the Cass Executive MBA and MSc Aviation Management programmes were awarded degrees during City, University of London’s tenth graduation ceremony held under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
The annual event, hosted at the DIFC Conference Centre, was graced by the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Chairman of Dubai Airports and Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Group, who has an honorary degree from City, University of London.
More than 180 guests attended the ceremony along with distinguished guests, including His Excellency Essa Kazim, Governor of the DIFC; HM Consul General in Dubai, Mr Andrew Jackson; Mr Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer of the DIFC Authority; and Dr Warren Fox, Chief of Higher Education at Knowledge and Human Development Authority.
With an average age of 35 years old, the diverse cohort of graduates are full-time professionals working in various sectors from medicine and marketing to finance, aviation, banking and hospitality.
Professor Sir Paul Curran, President of City, University of London, commented: “It is an honour and a privilege for me to congratulate our graduates in Dubai as they leave to make their ways in the world. They follow in the footsteps of hundreds of thousands of previous City graduates and we hope they will become life-long ambassadors for City, University of London. We are aware of the importance of high quality higher education for the MENA region and are extremely proud of the contributions we make through our Executive MBA, MSc in Aviation Management and Executive Education delivered in the DIFC; and our new LLM in Maritime Law, offered in partnership with the DIFC Academy of Law.”
Top performing Cass Executive MBA in Dubai graduate, Tom McNulty; MSc Air Transport Management graduate Linus Bauer; and MSc Air Safety Management graduate Saskia Vulturius were honoured with awards for their outstanding academic achievements.

City, University of London’s Executive MBA in Dubai, MSc Aviation Management programmes, and the newly launched LLM in Maritime Law are delivered at the Dubai International Financial Centre, by world-class academics who travel from City’s London campus. The modules are taught in intensive blocks of three to four consecutive days to accommodate the needs of the working professional.
