Often considered the crown jewel of the Middle East, there is something unique and wondrous about the awe-inspiring, sprawling metropolis that is Dubai. This is a destination that, year in and year out, attracts the adventurous souls and wild wonders of travellers from all over the globe, and it is not difficult to understand why. An undeniable sense of wonder is often felt when people first arrive in this incredible, awe-inspiring place. Dubai has come a long way from the small fishing town it once was, and its evolution is one that has long inspired and delighted the world. It is an evolution that continues even now, and Dubai is nowhere near done with its extraordinary growth.
A wondrous place that boasts adventure and luxury
Dubai is renowned around the globe for its sense of adventure and pure luxury. One of few destinations worldwide that can successfully balance both traits, Dubai leaves a sense of pure delight and exhilaration in the hearts and minds of those who visit the futuristic paradise in the golden desert. In Dubai, you can do anything. From looking to book yachts Dubai, to skiing around the coastline (and any other manner of adventurous delights, for that matter), there is a world of adventure to be had right here. Afterwards, you can wander down to the Old Gold Souk and buy some solid gold jewellery and dine at the underwater seafood restaurant at Burj Al Arab.
Boasting some of the world’s biggest bucket list items
Dubai is home to the world’s tallest structure, Burj Khalifa. 830 metres high, and 163 floors in total, this aw-inspiring rocket-shaped silver skyscraper has been the tallest building and structure in the world since it was completed in 2009. Additionally, there is Burj Al Arab Jumeirah, The Dubai Mall, and Palm Jumeirah to explore. The Old Gold Souk in Dubai has long been a bucket list item for millions of avid travellers, and its grandeur makes it easy to understand exactly why that is. This is where arguably the most expansive gold market exists, and it is a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
When to travel to Dubai
Being a Middle Eastern region, Dubai is renowned for its unrelenting heat year-round. However, if you are planning a trip to this exotic paradise in the Arabian desert, it is best to go in the cooler months, around winter (November to March). While the heat still rarely (if ever) plummets any lower than the mid-twenties (Celsius), it is much more agreeable to travel to Dubai when the heat is not astoundingly brutal. It is also important to note that Dubai is a middle eastern region, and so being relatively conservative and always respectful is a must. Going into malls that can be cooled down as low as fifteen degrees Celsius in short shorts and a spaghetti string singlet, for example, is not appropriate. If you are respectful of where you are, you will be treated with an abundance of kindness and respect back.
