Dubai Judicial Institute (DJI) inaugurated a trial version of its e-library to serve as an advanced gateway to enhance user experience. The new service was announced in conjunction with DJI’s 10th participation in the 29th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) 2019, hosted by Abu Dhabi and organised by the Abu Dhabi Department of Culture & Tourism on 24 – 30 April.
HE Justice Dr Jamal Al Sumaiti, Director General of DJI, commented: “We are keen to participate in cultural events organised by the UAE, where our presence comes in line with our strategy to best provide specialised legal books at unique prices to achieve one of our strategic objectives of promoting legal awareness in society, providing the country’s legislation and literature to all law professionals, and supporting the success of major events in the UAE.”
Al Sumaiti added: “Our development of the new portal comes in line with our ongoing efforts to enhance our services to various customers, keeping pace with the wise leadership's directives of making Dubai the smartest city in the world and enhance the country's human resources. The new portal represents an important addition that will help spread legal and judicial knowledge between specialists and those interested as well as easily provide them with information to help them complete their research and studies.”
The e-library allows customers to search all the sources included in DJI’s library, providing all the relative information on legal courses. One of the most important features of the new portal is its ability to provide research material in a facilitated and advanced manner, while also help researchers manage their accounts, and keep track of the condition of both rented and returned books.
DJI’s library management is able to create accounts for researchers and pioneers, where researchers are given a unique username and password to use when visiting the library.
The portal also allows for the purchase of information resources and books in addition to the possibility of booking sources until the next visit.
DJI has already expanded its library and has been able to increase its capacity by more than 50%, the equivalent of more than 6,000 issues.
DJI’s stand at ADIBF attracted specialists from legal and judicial professionals in general as well as visitors who praised the series of its renewed publications and applauded its methodology for interacting and participating in the UAE’s events.
