Dubai International Financial Centre, DIFC, announced today that it has received the Dubai Quality Award during the 25th annual Business Excellence Awards hosted by the Department of Economic Development, DED, in Dubai.
Held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, the Business Excellence Awards recognise entities across the UAE for their outstanding pursuit of excellence over the past year.
In recognition of its efforts towards building one of the world’s leading financial centres over the last 15 years, DIFC is the only free zone to receive the Dubai Quality Award this year.
Recipients of the Dubai Quality Award undergo a rigorous assessment process that examines applicants’ operations, leadership, strategy, people, partnerships and processes. The assessment process, which is led by an expert panel of judges drawn from different industry sectors, concluded that DIFC is a role model organisation based on the Excellence Model used by the European Foundation for Quality Management, EFQM.
Essa Kazim, Chairman of DIFC Authority Board of Directors and Governor of DIFC, said, "Today’s award is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of the DIFC community in shaping and driving the future of the regional financial landscape. Since our establishment in 2004, we have pioneered the development of the financial services sector and we remain committed to providing leading global institutions with the certainty and access they need to capture the opportunities within the MEASA region, through Dubai."
