Leading international professional services provider Equiom is pleased to announce the opening of a new office in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). Operating as Equiom (Isle of Man) Limited (DIFC Branch), the opening of the office is the next step in the company's continued expansion and investment in the region.
The opening of Equiom in the DIFC marks the sixteenth office globally and the fourth office for the Equiom Group in the UAE. Equiom made its first entry into the UAE with the acquisition of Links Group (The Links Group Limited) in September 2016. Links is a corporate services provider with offices in Dubai and Abu Dhabi that supports organisations set up in the region. In November 2018, Equiom acquired HOLT consultancy, a compliance and risk management service provider located in the DIFC. The opening of Equiom in the DIFC builds on the organisation's growing presence in the Middle East and aims to provide a wider breadth of services for the group in the region.
The new Equiom office in the DIFC is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority(DFSA) and will be responsible for the promotion of a full range of trust and fiduciary services. The company's offering aims to meet the individual requirements of clients including high net worth individuals, family offices and corporations.
A particular focus for Equiom will be the provision of its unique 'Private Office' solution and End of Service Gratuity Trusts. For the latter, Equiom offers a trustee solution for organisations who wish to enhance their existing End of Service Gratuity obligations to their employees in line with UAE Labour Law.
Equiom's presence in the DIFC will be headed by Gary Hales, Head of Equiom Fiduciary - Middle East (who is acting as the Senior Executive Officer). Gary commented: 'I'm excited to be given the opportunity to support Equiom's strategy in the region and I am looking forward to generating new business for Equiom in the DIFC. Having a presence in the DIFC will allow us to increase our range of services to clients locally while harnessing the international professional network of the group to also attract business from other parts of the world.'
Equiom's Global CEO Sheila Dean added: 'The establishment of Equiom in the DIFC is a very exciting milestone for us, allowing us to provide our core trust and fiduciary services to the growing Middle East market. We are looking forward to growing our already strong presence and furthering our ability to assist both current and new clients with all of their private wealth and corporate needs.'
