The Monaco Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai aims to change global perceptions by creating a kaleidoscopic experience that allows visitors to explore the country’s diverse national identity.
Inspired by the ‘Rock of Monaco’, the gem-like, polygonal pavilion will take visitors on a multisensory journey through mirrored exhibition spaces, replicating the sights and smells of the French Riviera.
Spread over multiple levels, just like the mazy streets of Monaco, the structure will offer guests an opportunity to discover the city-state’s rich heritage, resources, research and know-how.
The pavilion will feature two main exhibition areas. The ‘Garden of Opportunities’ will include a variety of interactive experiences that will bring to life Monaco’s warm, sunny climate.
Visitors will then enter the ‘Kaleidoscope’, which will showcase the country’s art, culture, innovation, history, gastronomy and more, in line with the pavilion’s theme of ‘Monaco 360° – a World of Opportunities’.
Located in Expo 2020’s Opportunity Thematic District, most of the pavilion’s electricity will be generated by photovoltaic panels, and Monaco aims for the majority of its building materials to be recyclable.
Monaco is the latest country to reveal the design and theme of its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. More are expected to follow in the coming months.
