Visitors to the Norway Pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai will be able to explore the deep blue sea and learn about the importance of ocean conservation – all without changing into a wetsuit.
The pavilion will draw on the Scandinavian country’s seafaring heritage and its focus on maritime activities by taking visitors on an interactive journey from beneath the seabed to the water’s surface.
Not only does Norway boast one of the longest coastlines in the world, but its marine habitat is more than five times larger than its land area. With maritime industries accounting for nearly 70 per cent of its export revenues, the country is playing a leading role in global efforts to promote clean and healthy oceans.
The pavilion’s subaquatic experience will therefore highlight some of the most pressing environmental issues facing our oceans, and showcase cutting-edge innovations that could help to overcome these challenges.
Located in Expo 2020’s Opportunity Thematic District, the Norway Pavilion will include 680 sqm of interactive exhibition space, which is designed to offer visitors an educational yet playful experience.
Norway is the latest country to reveal the design and theme of its pavilion at Expo 2020 Dubai. More are due to follow in the coming months.
