Dubai Land Department (DLD) recorded its presence in MIPIM 2019, the leading real estate exhibition held at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France over four days — 12 – 15 March — as part of its efforts to promote and develop the real estate sector and within the framework of the real estate promotion and investment management sector’s real estate activity agenda. DLD is participating for the first time under the umbrella of the Government of Dubai as the ‘Partner City’ of the exhibition.
DLD, in collaboration with Reed MIDEM SAS, organised a real estate developer meeting in September 2018 to encourage developers to participate in the 30th edition of MIPIM. The meeting, which was held under the theme ‘Dubai in MIPIM,’ focussed on encouraging developers to join the Dubai delegation to this important international exhibition under DLD’s umbrella to represent the Emirate and provide a bright picture of its real estate sector.
HE Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, said: “We look forward to actively participating in this important exhibition for our real estate sector, and we hope to record positive results that would help us promote our projects to large crowds of international visitors as well as attract foreign capital and investors to invest in our real estate market. Based on our previous experience in this exhibition, we will register a unique presence through the Dubai Pavilion (MIPIM’s partner).”
DLD is participating in this major international exhibition as part of its extensive promotional plan to participate in several international events and exhibitions, with the aim to highlight Dubai’s real estate and the investment opportunities it offers to investors through major real estate developers and distinguished projects with international standards.
MIPIM 2019 is one of the largest real estate exhibitions in the world. DLD participated in last year’s edition, attracting a high level of activity to its pavilion in light of the eagerness of global investors to identify investment advantages in the Emirate. DLD expects this year's edition to be even more distinguished and has prepared to promote major real estate projects with its partners to highlight the attractive investment horizon in the Emirate to investors, REITs, and major financing institutions.
More than 50 countries, 5,000 investors from around the world, and more than 1,000 real estate projects are making a presence in the exhibition. Developers consider this event as a great opportunity to conclude real estate investment agreements and partnerships, especially as it receives high demand from decision makers in countries who are keen to develop their investment sectors.
MIPIM launched 30 years ago and DLD hopes to benefit from the ideal platform the exhibition will provide to highlight the investment opportunities available in the Emirate and attract foreign capital, especially as Dubai has a promising real estate market with several benefits, most prominent of which are the guaranteed return on investment, the ability to evaluate the value of real estate, the political security, the economic stability of the UAE, the Emirates’ strategic location, the growing demand for real estate in the nation as a result of ambitious government initiatives and the steady increase in population, and the ideal legislation that allows for freehold property ownership that is on offer in Dubai.
MIPIM attracts leading global consultants and architects as well as provides an opportunity to share experiences. This year’s edition will focus on highlighting young entrepreneurs and hosting meetings and panels to listen to their visions as leaders of real estate investment of the future. MIPIM 2019 is expected to be attended by around 27,000 visitors worldwide compared to 26,000 in 2018.
