Dubai Land Department (DLD) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the American University in the Emirates (AUE), Dubai. The MoU was signed by HE Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, and Muthanna Abdul Razzaq, President and CEO of AUE, in the presence of HE Judge Abdulqader Mousa, Director of the Rental Disputes Center (RDC), and Tarek Abdelsalam, Dean of College of Law at AUE.
Bin Mejren commended the establishment of joint cooperation between the two parties as it represents a fundamental importance in various scientific, educational, and cultural fields as well as research and training programmes, and the exchange of experiences and knowledge.
Bin Mejren added: "We are pleased to help university students establish their careers, organise programmes, exchange experiences, and maintain communication with the aim of achieving common interests for the benefit of society."
In addition to sharing knowledge and expertise at all levels, DLD looks forward to cooperating with the University by exchanging visits and meetings and organising workshops that aim to achieve best practices in the fields of community development and advancement. The two parties will coordinate the organisation of conferences, seminars, and exhibitions of common interest, and cooperate in scientific and field studies, benefitting from the research centres to develop the knowledge and skills of both parties' employees.
Bin Mejren added: "Under the new MoU, we can achieve a lot of positive results for both parties, most prominently the exchange of access to sites, service centers, and social and training facilities at DLD and AUE. Through joint meetings and seminars, we will contribute to the development of the community service sector."
Mousa commented: "We are pleased to cooperate with AUE in the sharing of scientific publications, training programmes and plans, scientific materials, and other collaterals that contribute to the achievement of scientific and academic goals agreed upon by the parties. We will also cooperate in training students enrolled in law faculties free of charge and in establishing of joint legal events — whether seminars or conferences — to achieve mutual benefit."
DLD will provide volunteering opportunities and field training for university staff, and the AUE is committed to programmes, initiatives, activities, and training opportunities for volunteers. AUE will also contribute to providing academic and scientific advice that benefit DLD as well as annual grants and discounts for DLD's employees enrolled in undergraduate and master's programmes across all specialisations.
Abdul Razzaq commented: "The MoU between AUE and DLD is a positive step towards achieving our mission towards excellence by bridging the gap between theory and practice to raise efficiency and the practical performance of graduates and DLD's employees as well as acquire the required field skills to launch a career. These will be implemented based on the MoU's terms in the field of practical training, scientific research, and the establishment of conferences, seminars, and events of common interest that contribute to solving practical problems in the field of laws and real estate disputes.
