Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is offering 300 four and five-digit number plates at the forthcoming 55th Online Auction; the first of its kind this year. Plates on offer bear the following codes: (A – B – H – I –J – K – L – M – N – O – P – Q – R – S and T).
“Registration starts on Sunday, 17th February and the auction will start at 08:00 am on Sunday, 24th February continuing for five days,” said Jamal Al Sadah, Director of Vehicles Licensing, Licensing Agency, RTA.
“These kind of events contribute to enhancing the online service offering of RTA; which is part of its annual plans for improving the quality and processing of public transactions. They also render auctions as a tool of maximising the satisfaction and happiness of clients, especially number plate enthusiasts by offering them the liberty of selecting their fancied plates in a hassle-free environment,” commented Al Sadah.
The selling of licensing plates in this auction will be subject to a 5% VAT. To participate in the auction, the client has to have an account on RTA website (www.rta.ae), or use the New User’s link to obtain a Username and Password. Registration of a New User requires the applicant to have a vehicle registered in Dubai or a driver license issued from the Emirate.
Potential bidders are required to submit a security cheque amounting to AED5000 addressed to the RTA, along with a non-refundable participation fee of AED120. Payment can be made at Customers Happiness Centers in Umm Al Ramool, Al Barsha or Deira, by credit card via (www.rta.ae) or through the Dubai Drive app. The successful bidder has to clear dues within ten working days from the date of closing the auction.
