The campaigns werecarried out by Licensing Agency and the teams assigned to follow up requirements of health, safety and environment in the centres.
“These campaigns were part of efforts to realise RTA’s 5th Strategic Goal (Safety and Environmental Sustainability). They aimed at promoting the safety culture amongst staff of both the Agency and service providers, who are the forefront of the Agency’s operations,” said Jamal Assada, Director of Vehicles Licensing at RTA’s Licensing Agency.
“The campaigns focused on the use of firefighting systems at centres of service providers. Lectures were delivered about fire prevention skills, and awareness leaflets were distributed to participants. The Civil Defence Team gave guidance about fire extinguishers and the use of fire systems during emergencies.
“The initiative aimed to promote the safety culture of employees and the public at service centres and guide them about the correct use of fire extinguishers. It also gave them training on fire prevention skills,” added Assada.
The campaign targeted employees, workers and customers at centres of service providers as well as staff of Service Providers Section.
