The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, DEWA, has launched a new service that will enable customers to collect security deposits and credit refunds from Western Union agents in the UAE and around the world.
The service is part of DEWA’s efforts to ensure the convenience of its customers, by saving them time and effort in implementation of an agreement between the two sides and to support UAE Innovation Month, announced by the Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, under the theme, "UAE Innovates."
Through the service, DEWA’s customers can request security deposits and credit refunds from its website or smart application, and choose Western Union as the pay-out option, at no extra cost until 31st May, 2019.
"We launched this new service to implement the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed to provide the best government services, which will make it easier for customers and reduce the number of visitors to government offices by 80 percent by 2019. DEWA's smart services adoption rate reached 93 percent during the fourth quarter of 2018, ahead of schedule. DEWA aims to use innovative tools that will enhance the quality of its services, based on the highest standards of efficiency and reliability. Customers can complete all of their transactions anytime, anywhere, using DEWA’s multiple smart channels, without the need to visit the centres, saving them time and effort, and making them happier," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA.
