Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has held the 2nd gathering of students covered by RTA’s Scholarship Programme. The get-together event aimed at communicating with students, addressing challenges faced during their study besides offering them guidance helping them to realise their ambitions.
“The gathering of students on scholarships sponsored by RTA is held biannually to review their academic progress. It also offers them guidance to enrich their academic study and realise the objectives set,” said Mansour Al Falasi, Director of Human Resources and Development at RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.
“The gathering hosted a PhD graduate in a discussion panel to reflect on his academic experience and lessons learned. He also explained the role of RTA in supporting the Scholarship Programme and honouring high achievers to motivate affiliates of the programme.
“RTA Scholarship Programme sponsors Emirati secondary school graduates and assists them with their university studies in certain majors compatible with RTA’s scope of work, in order to employ them upon graduation. The Programme is part of our endeavours to source competent Emiratis to meet RTA future needs, and support the Emiratisation scheme as per the Strategic Plan of the RTA,” he explained.
“The Scholarship Programme for secondary school graduates is offered across UAE universities and provides full sponsorship to affiliated students. They receive fixed monthly financial allowance to help them cope with their study expenses and encourage them to pursue their academic career. RTA is making extensive efforts to attract Emiratis and qualify them in line with the directives of our leadership to empower citizens and groom them for playing an active role in the upswing seen by the UAE,” concluded Al Falasi.
