Dubai Real Estate Institute (DREI), the educational arm of Dubai Land Department (DLD), announced that the number of trainees the Institute contributed to training since its inception till the end of 2018 reached 70,200. The training courses were not only in Dubai, but also in the other Emirates and Bahrain, with the training and development activities being supervised by the Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA) since 2008.
Hend Obaid Al Marri, CEO of DREI, commented: “We will rely on the 50-Year Charter and the eight principles of Dubai recently announced by HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in building and developing our plans for 2019 and our future strategies, especially as DREI plays a key role in achieving DLD’s vision to position Dubai as the world’s premier real estate destination and a byword for innovation, trust, and happiness. This is done by contributing to the development of employees working in the real estate market, and help them provide modern and sophisticated services to customers. These activities are positively reflected on the real estate investment climate in Dubai specifically, and the UAE and the region generally.”
Al Marri added: “By organising several courses within its regular annual agenda, and by cooperating with companies operating in the sector to hold courses that meet specific requirements, DREI was able to achieve the desired excellence to become a leading international benchmark in creating, spreading, and sustaining real estate knowledge between specialists and the public alike. Demand for services provided by the Institute will increase in parallel with market growth and the need of relevant parties for competent and specialised employees capable of carrying out required tasks.”
DREI is eager to fully align itself with DLD’s mission to create an innovative and sustainable real estate environment that will promote Dubai as the world's happiest city through smart services, professional human and financial resources, and integrated real estate legislation. DREI’s role in many of these aspects is highlighted by the provision of dozens of courses that are witnessing an increased demand among those wishing to work in the real estate market as well as those wishing to enhance their skills in marketing, organisation, and management.
Al Marri stressed that DREI focusses on spreading real estate awareness and involving all parties in the real estate sector by holding seminars as well as organising brainstorming sessions to improve services and provide the best for the community in line with DLD’s plans, focussing on innovation, enhancing trust, and achieving happiness as well as its new development plan for the continuation of broker education. DREI adopts an ambitious vision to expand in a number of countries around the world as a means of spreading and promoting Dubai’s real estate system. It is also eager to attract local and international memberships and participations across all fields. Through these activities, among others, DREI succeeded in opening channels of communication with stakeholders and the community, thus enhancing its position as a hub for knowledge and real estate innovation. During 2019, DREI aims to adopt several courses and projects aimed at supporting education and innovation, and encouraging the youth in engaging in this field.
Among DREI’s most prominent courses is the Certified Training for Real Estate Brokers, who are also subject to a test for renewing their real estate brokerage license. DREI also holds a Certified Training for Real Estate Timeshare Brokers, a Certified Diploma in Real Estate, and courses for real estate license holders, surveyors, managers, owners’ associations, and registration trustees.
