It requires choosing, amongst other technical components, the right lens and perfect timing. We congratulate the winners and as always, invite the rest of our photography community to participate for their chance to win."
December’s winner of the ‘People’s Choice Award’ was Mehmet Aslan from Turkey, he commented, "The photograph was taken in Turkey's Hatay province in 2017 on a high plateau during a pleasant stroll in the area after sunset. I posted my picture on social media but it was the first time I got an award. I was very happy when I knew I was the winner of ‘People’s Choice Award’ in a high-profile international competition like HIPA. This gives me great confidence in myself and in a photographic way, and I aspire to put a distinctive mark on the world of photography in the future."
Another winner, Raed Wajeeh Nasser from Jordan, said, "During a touristic photography mission in northern Jordan, I noticed the curve of the street from the top and I imagined the view after sunset, I waited for four hours and then took the picture. By virtue of my media career, I have won several times but winning this prestigious award feels like the first win in my life. My ambition as a photographer has no limits and this win has boosted my self-confidence a lot."
