The Dubai Customs recently took part in NASA’s 3rd Cross Industry Innovation Summit.
The summit took place at the Space Centre in Houston, United States, on 7th and 8th November, 2018. Dubai Customs became the first customs department in the world to take part in the summit.
Many leading technology experts, scientists, executive directors and entrepreneurs from various countries participated in the summit, to connect and discuss common challenges, benchmark innovations, and analogies along various industry lines, as well as to explore solutions and identify new strategies through future technology collaborations.
Hussam Juma, Director of the Business Innovation Department, represented Dubai Customs at the summit and talked about its services innovation system, its journey of innovation and its future vision, including its current projects, that will revolutionise customs work by incorporating modern technologies, such as artificial intelligence and block chain technology, which will make Dubai Customs a world leader in innovation.
He also highlighted the authority’s role in improving customs services to maximise revenues, minimise costs and boost efficiencies, which will fully integrate its work into the UAE’s smart government system.
"All this progress would not have taken place without Dubai Custom’s ongoing support for innovation and the empowerment of innovators," Juma said.
