As rich and diverse content is highly critical for any media institution in the digital era, recent industry reports suggest that more and more media and entertainment brands are today aiming to boost their online presence by directly reaching out to audiences with tailor-made content. Furthermore, and since the world of media and entertainment eyes new revenue streams, the time is ripe for broadcasters, content creators and distribution platforms to deliver rich programming content to meet the needs of the rapidly evolving consumer, irrespective of the screen on which it is served.
A recent Global Entertainment & Media Outlook 2018-2022 report by PwC predicted that the fastest growth is expected to be in digitally driven segments, with virtual reality leading the way, followed by over-the-top content (OTT), video games/e-sports and cinema. Similarly, the report highlighted that E-Sports will be the second fastest-growing segment while in contrast, newspapers and magazines are expecting to see some decline in revenues up until 2022.
Established in 2008, the Dubai International Content Market is organized annually by INDEX Conferences and Exhibitions – a member of INDEX Holding and supported by Dubai Film and TV Commission and Dubai Media City.
