Jihad Tayara's panel discussion looked at, 'Driving the Digital Economy' where he explained what is currently stimulating the digital economy, and how digital disruption will change the way companies business in smart energy sectors. He also looked towards the future, to see how this will change the competitive landscape, and what comes next. This led nicely onto Saleem Al Blooshi's panel discussion, '5G and Its use cases for oil & Gas industry'. He looked towards future digitalisation and how it will bridge the gap in automation, infrastructure, and high-speed latency. Balooshi also mentioned the unique partnership between Yahsat, du, Etihad Engineering, Hughes Network Systems and Carlisle Interconnect, which is set to drive a new superfast connection, and is planned to be available to passengers in 2018 - 2019.
