The Most Beautiful Buildings in Dubai
(5 October 2020)

When Dubai sprung out of the deserts of the UAE, no one would have believed that it would contain some of the most beautiful pieces of architecture the world has ever seen. The Middle Eastern country has become the very definition of success, glamor, and ambition. When you look at Dubai, you can be forgiven for thinking that anything is possible in this amazing city. Dubai is filled with many attractions and places to visit. But it is the skyline that catches the attention of visitors. The list of iconic buildings goes on, but which are the best?

Burj Al Arab

A major part of Dubai’s skyline, it is also known as one of the most luxurious hotels on the planet. The Burj Al Arab is unmistakable and that is what is so great about it. The design is based on the sail of a traditional fishing boat which complements its location by the ocean. The sail was constructed using a screen made of a woven glass fibre. It was not all plain sailing when construction was taking place. The hotel was built on a floating island which took three years to construct.

Dubai Mall

Do you know that the biggest mall in the world is in Dubai? Well, you do now. Opened in 2008, this “super mall” attracts visitors from all over the world. It contains 1,200 shops and 160 restaurants. The mall also contains cinemas, an aquarium, and an underwater zoo. You can hit the Rainforest Café and chill out with a coffee, dinner, or have a spin, or two on a slot game at Regal Wins online casino. The building itself is spread out over 13 million feet and is packed with most luxury brands known to man! The mall is also visited by up to 8 million people each year.

The Opus

This stunning looking building is the jewel in Dubai’s crown. Located on Al A'amal Street, The Opus is hard to miss. The building is filled with luxurious apartments and comes with a huge piece missing from its centre – it will remind you of something you will find in a Sci-Fi movie. You will also find 15 bars and restaurants. It basically two glass towers that are joined by a glass bridge. The Opus was built by architect Dame Zaha Hadid.

The Cayan Tower

Also known as the Infinity Tower, the building stands out because of its twisted form as it rises into the sky. At one point, it was known as the world’s tallest residential tower in the world.  The tower is situated on the Dubai Marina and offers excellent views of the marina.  it famous for twisting a full 90˚ as it reaches upwards. Inside, you will not find any structural pillars at all. It truly is a unique building and is one of the reasons the building is special.

Dubai Frame

Probably the most unique piece of architecture. The frame captures visions of old and contemporary Dubai for all to enjoy. At the top of the frame, you will find a glass bottom-bridge which offers 360˚ views of Dubai. You will find this attraction in Zabeel Park which is positioned in the heart of Dubai. The Dubai Frame opened in 2018 and has been a huge hit with visitors. It’s believed that it attracts two million visitors each year.
