Emirates Central Cooling Systems Corporation (Empower), the world's largest district cooling services provider, highlighted on the occasion of World Day for Safety and Health at work, that occupational health and safety is a top priority for the company and it takes every action to ensure the safety and health of its employees.
Empower stressed that it strives to create a safe environment for its employees by adopting the best global practices and advanced technologies and by offering the necessary training to the staff in all its cooling plants in order to ensure their health and safety.
“Empower continuously reviews the health and safety risks, measures the implementation of standards and requirements in all its projects and district cooling plants. We follow International Standards for Safety and regularly train our staff and contractors on safety procedures and measures,” said Ahmad Bin Shafar, CEO of Empower.
“Empower has been ISO certified in Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSAS 18001) since 2016. This confirms our professional commitment to implementing occupational health and safety risk management systems. We have trained fire safety technicians and first aid specialists at Empower’s 75 cooling plants across Dubai to ensure the effective implementation of occupational health and safety measures”. added Bin Shafar
Bin Shafar stressed that Empower works closely with all local authorities to comply with local legal requirements. Company’s plants are designed, constructed and operated with high safety standards in practice and the health and safety of the employees at their work environment is one of the top priorities.
International Labour Organization (ILO) marks the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on the 28th of April to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases globally. It is an awareness-raising campaign intended to focus international attention on emerging trends in the field of occupational safety and health and on the magnitude of work-related injuries, diseases and fatalities worldwide.
