People Of Determination Encouraged To Take Part In ’Kisaa’ Campaign
(25 December 2018)

The Ministry of Community Development, MoCD, in cooperation with ENOC and Social Hub, an Emirati platform dedicated to promoting community, cultural and volunteering events, organised 'Kisaa' (clothing in English), one of the volunteering platform initiatives of "volunteers.ae" to encourage the people of determination to participate in volunteering works by collecting, ironing, preparing and distributing clothes to the needy.

The initiative saw the participation of a number of registered volunteers and officials on the platform who joined hands with the people of determination to complete the preparation and distribution of clothes at the event which was hosted by Dubai Welfare and Rehabilitation Center for People of Determination. The number of participants in the initiative reached 500 from different categories of the community. The initiative provided assistance and benefitted 3,000 people, of which 500 are families and 150 are labourers.

Hessa Tahlak, Advisor in the Ministry of Community Development, MoCD, stated that the initiative highlighted the role of the people of determination who volunteered with those who are registered on the platform to achieve a national, humanitarian, and community value embodied by charity work, empowerment and including the people of determination in the community.

She said, "The increasing number of volunteers included school and university students of different ages representing employees, senior emiratis and the people of determination. All these categories prepare and hand over the clothes to the beneficiaries as part of their participation in the initiative."

Tahlak revealed that there is an agreement between the ministry and a number of charity associations to receive the list of families and invite them to choose from the available clothes while the participants of the initiatives, ENOC and Social Hub, will receive the donations, collect clothes and prepare them for distribution.

Furthermore, Saif Humaid Al Falasi, Group CEO of ENOC, said, "Our collaboration today with the Ministry of Community Development and Social Hub comes within the framework of the community-based initiatives in the Year of Zayed. ENOC’s CSR efforts are inspired by the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan."

Additionally, Khalid Bin Tameem, CEO of Social Hub, said that the platform abides by the UAE’s vision of innovation and creativity, community and volunteering events and involving all the categories of the community whether dignitaries, media members and people of determination to achieve the goals in the Year of Zayed and consolidate the late Sheikh Zayed’s heritage of giving and welfare through a number of projects and initiatives coinciding with his vision and values.
