Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation (AMAF) has handed over a cheque for AED1 million to the Community Development Authority (CDA) in aid of its Social Solidarity Fund.
The donation comes as part of the Foundation’s initiatives for the ‘Year of Zayed’ and is in line with its commitment towards building a cohesive community.
His Excellency Ali Al Mutawa, Secretary General of AMAF, said: “It is the moral obligation of every individual and institution to help shape an integrated and enabled community in the UAE. This is possible only through unifying humanitarian and charitable efforts that empower people in need of support and ensure their inclusion within the community. Eventually, this will contribute to the overall happiness of individuals and the community as a whole.”
Al-Mutawa explained how the culture of giving is ingrained in the value systems of the UAE and is embodied by the country’s wise leadership in its various initiatives and government programs.
His Excellency Saeed Al Tayer, CEO - Social Planning and Development Sector at CDA, and Head of the Social Solidarity Fund, thanked AMAF for its generous contribution.
He said: “Such benevolent gestures support the objectives of the Social Solidarity Fund in achieving a decent living for the needy, and aiding low-income families that require support. Only through donations and endowments can the Fund achieve its mission and we applaud institutions such as Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation that prioritize the social cohesion of all segments of society.”
