Dubai Customs Manager of Suggestions and Complaints Hussein Al Fardan has become the first-ever Arab to join ideasUK board of directors; the UK’s foremost team for the promotion of employee suggestion schemes through working with organisations worldwide to introduce and enhance innovation in the workplace.
Recognising his role in spreading the word about innovation and sharing his valuable hands-on experiences with others about upgrading SRS systems and generating new ideas that meet world-class standards, the ideasUK Association saw fit to make Al Fardan a member in its board of directors. Al Fardan’s great contribution in the field has helped up the number of UAE government and private entities applying annually to the ideasUK awards.
Having joined Dubai Customs in 2010 as Manager of Suggestions, Complaints and Rewards, Hussein Al Fardan has, since then, contributed significantly to Dubai Customs’ impressive record of accolades. His wide network of global organisations that recognise and award outstanding innovative ideas – namely the ideasUK, Ideas America, Ideas Germany, Ideas India and Ideas Arabia – made him one of the most influential figures in the field. He has been a key member of the Ideas Arabia board since 2012, and this year he was unanimously approved by the ideasUK board to serve as a member in this board.
“I am very happy and very proud with the honour and trust bestowed upon me by the ideasUK Association. I am now more driven to support innovation and creativity in the UAE to help more government and private organisations bag awards and encourage creative minds to put forth fresh ideas.
“In 2015, Dubai Customs was awarded the ideasUK Platinum Category for the sixth consecutive year, for its efficient suggestions system, scoring 100% for the third year in a row. Idea of the Year Trophy, the highlight of the event, was given to the Smart Customs Inspection System,” said Al Fardan.
