Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has announced its participation as the main sponsor of Qur’an Readers, a group of activities organised by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities (IACAD), under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. Famous Qur’an readers from the Arab World will take part in the activities. The best reader will be chosen for the performance of Taraweeh and Qiyam prayers during the holy month of Ramadan.

The activities are being held at the Rashidiya Grand Mosque throughout Ramadan, and will gather a group of famous Qur’an readers to perform Ramadan Nights, and celebrate the holy month by worshiping, and conducting religious lectures and Qur’an recitations. Qur’an Readers is a popular event in the country, and attracts a large number of people, who come to perform Taraweeh prayers behind famous Qur’an readers.
