DEWA is strategic partner of the Rashid bin Mohammed Ramadan Forum
(18 June 2016)

Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is supporting the Rashid bin Mohammed Ramadan Forum as its strategic partner, under the patronage of HH Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Foundation (MBRF). The forum was organised by the Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities (IACAD), and will be held throughout the Holy Month of Ramadan, at Al Khawaneej 1, Dubai.

“We are glad to be the strategic partner of the first Rashid bin Mohammed Ramadan Forum, as part of our efforts to implement the directives of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and Ruler of Dubai, to tackle social and humanitarian issues and improve collaboration with the public and private sectors, and enhance cooperation with local and foreign communities, to instil the values of Islam and our national heritage during the Holy Month of Ramadan. DEWA supports events to enhance Dubai’s position as a global cultural and humanitarian hub, while spreading the message of Islam, instilling religious values, and using Ramadan as a time to worship, pray, and participate in useful activities,” said HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.

“As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and commitment to addressing humanitarian issues, we support these activities to cultivate love, tolerance, and unity, while highlighting the benefits of Islam, introducing foreigners to Islamic culture, protecting the values of Islam, inheriting traditions, and harvesting a culture of tolerance throughout the community,” added Al Tayer.

The Rashid bin Mohammed Ramadan Forum features a host of activities, which includes the Religious Lectures Tent for both men and women. The tent holds Arabic lectures by scholars from the Islamic and Arab World, and includes a Ramadan Market where families can shop.

Lectures for foreign communities will be available in Urdu, Tamil, Malayalam, Bengali, and English. These lectures will take place in the Hor Al Anz Iftar Tent, at the Sheikh Rashid Grand Mosque, after reading and Tarawih prayers.
