Etihad Museum Receives Vast Numbers of Government and Diplomatic Representative Following its Inauguration to Public
(21 February 2017)

The Etihad Museum has announced that it has received a vast number of government and diplomatic representatives from all across the UAE, following its opening to the public. As the dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage in the Emirate, and the authority managing the museum’s daily operations, Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) ensured that all delegations were provided with a unique and rich heritage experience.

Abdulla bin Massam Al Falasi, Director of Etihad Museum, said: “Here at the museum we are delighted to receive such a vast number of delegations and groups, extending from local governmental institutions, to diplomatic and consular authorities, schools, academic institutions and the general public. These visits indicate that many different audiences are keen to provide support for the museum, guaranteeing the success of its mission to inspire citizens, residents and visitors with the Union story. We provide all visitors a close look at the achievements of the Founding Fathers and their dedication to the Union of the United Arab Emirates.”

From Dubai, the Etihad Museum has so far received delegations from the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs, the Hamdan Bin Mohammad Heritage Center, the Hamdan Bin Rashid Awards for Distinguished Academic Performance and the Expo 2020 committee.

The Museum has also received visitors from neighbouring Emirates, with diplomatic delegations including His Excellency Jaber Mohammed Ghanem Al Suwaidi, the General Director of the Crown Prince Court of Abu Dhabi, The General Secretariat of the Executive Council, Sharjah Museum Departments, the Embassy of The United States, and the Consulate General of the Republic of Singapore.

The Etihad Museum is designed in the shape of a manuscript with seven columns that replicate the pen used to sign the declaration of the union in 1971. The museum includes both permanent and temporary halls, a theatre, educational and recreational areas and administrative offices. Additionally, the corporate identity of the museum draws inspiration from the colours of the UAE national flag, its federal identity and the seven emirates.
