The Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) has entered in a strategic partnership with the Center for Cyber Security in New York University Abu Dhabi to host the annual ACM Asia Conference on Computer and Communications Security (ASIACCS) and improve the strategic collaboration on Research, Development and innovation areas in the field of cyber security. The conference will take place for the first time in the Middle East from the 2nd to the 6th of April 2017, at New York University Abu Dhabi.
ACM ASIACCS conference brings together worldwide security researchers, scientists, academics and professionals to the UAE in an effort to share the latest in research outcomes in the field, and transfer knowledge and expertise around the different aspects related to the sector of cyber security. It will target several topics in relation to cyber security such as sustainable security, threats against embedded systems, advance security research in the world of IoT, security and privacy challenges for aviation networks and many more.
During the conference, different workshop sessions will be conducted on different security topics. This includes ACM ASIA Public-Key Cryptography, Blockchain, Cyber-Physical System Security, IoT Privacy, and Cloud Computing Security workshops.
In this regards, H.E Yousef Al Shaibani, CEO of Dubai Electronic Security Center stressed that DESC supports the hosting of cyber security related conferences in order to achieve its vision and strategic objectives.
He added: “It is important and significant to host such conferences that improve researches on the recent security matters. We encourage students, faculty members and researchers to attend such conferences and events that will improve their skills and knowledge in this field.”
The Director of the center of Cyber Security in NYUAD, Dr. Hoda A.ALKhzaimi highlights that this type of strategic collaborations especially with DESC on aspects of security will support leveraging the current outcomes in addition to the interaction of the international research and industrial communities to build a robust practice for cyber security that will reflect by enhancing the global governmental, industrial technical platforms with this regards.
