Emirates Islamic Contributes To Support A Number Of Graduates From Abu Dhabi University

Emirates Islamic partners with Abu Dhabi University to help graduates facing financial problems obtain their university degrees.

As part of its commitment to the community, Emirates Islamic, one of the leading Islamic financial institutions in the UAE, today announced that it had collaborated with Abu Dhabi University to financially support a number of graduates who were unable to receive their degree due to financial dues.

Commenting on the initiative, Awatif Al Harmoody, said: “We, at Emirates Islamic, constantly strive to provide financial assistance to those who need it. Students are our foundation for the future and supporting them today will help create a happier and more prosperous UAE in the future. The contribution is in line with our commitment to the UAE's Year of Giving initiative, and embodies the spirit of giving according to the provisions of Shari’a.”

Through its partnership with Abu Dhabi University, Emirates Islamic will be able to help graduates obtain their degrees and find employment to support their families. Expanding the reach of their charitable, humanitarian and community initiatives, the bank has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Abu Dhabi University to support disadvantaged students with financial aid. 

In 2016, Emirates Islamic launched the Emirates Islamic Charity Fund, to govern and manage the bank’s strategy for charitable donations and giving, one of the key pillars of the bank’s overall CSR framework.

The Emirates Islamic Charity Fund provides financial aid under several main areas, including food, shelter, health, education and social welfare. The Fund has been set up with the primary objective of allocation of financial aid to large charities, public and private institutions, as well as individuals in need.
