Latest Dubai Customs statistics revealed that the Department has received 129 suggestions and 948 enquires during the first half of 2017. Positive feedback on Dubai Customs services and products and the rate of commendation rose to 76 from 22 in the same period of 2016, which means a 250% rise.

The number of ideas and innovations submitted by clients and employees to boost Dubai Customs performance between 2004 and 2016 is 21,850. Revenues and reduction in costs achieved using these ideas and innovations is AED 1.34 billion. These ideas have helped reduce time and effort, and have facilitated work at Dubai Customs; thus raising it to a more internationally competitive level. They also played an important role in helping the UAE attain the first place in MENA and third worldwide on the efficiency of customs procedures index.

Edris Behzad, Client Management Director, Director of Happiness Team pointed out that coherent partnership and continual communication with clients have been key to Dubai Customs success. Dubai Customs Consultative Council was established to enhance communication with clients and partners and to help build mutual trust for further corporation.

The quality services that Dubai Customs provide and its great efforts to make its clients happier and more satisfied took the levels of clients’ happiness up to 97%, suppliers’ happiness up to 89%, and partners’ happiness up to 90%, Behzad added.

Behzad confirmed that the 129 suggestions have been studied carefully to ensure maximum benefit from them. The Department receives enquires from the public round the clock and replies instantly to them in Arabic and English. The communication channels are the email, the website, and Dubai unified e-suggestion system.

Behzad added:” Our relationships with our strategic partners and clients are very important to us. We always work hard to enhance and improve our ties with them in order to meet and even go beyond their expectations. A number of initiatives have been taken in that regard including Clients’ Charter that helps foster transparency and sound governance, and “Mestanis” (Are you happy?) campaign to ensure highest level of clients’ happiness and satisfaction”.
