As part of its commitment to the Smart City initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) – the Emirate’s dedicated entity for culture, arts and heritage – has announced its participation in the 37th session of GITEX 2017, which will be hosted by the Dubai World Trade Center from 8th to 12th October.
Dubai Culture is giving GITEX 2017 visitors an opportunity to explore a number of applications at its pavilion under the umbrella of the Dubai Smart Government, including the Dubai Culture application, Dubai Public Library application and Creatopia platform. The Authority’s representatives will be on hand to answer questions and offer detailed explanations to help visitors benefit from the applications.
Mohamed Al Hammadi, Director of the Information Technology Department at Dubai Culture & Arts Authority, commented: “Dubai Culture embraces the very latest technological advances in order to engage with customers and visitors. Our IT initiatives are part of our efforts to promote and implement the directives of Dubai’s wise leadership around further driving innovation across our offerings. Dubai Culture representatives will showcase our range of technology services and solutions to help us realise our vision of transforming Dubai into one of the world's most popular cultural destinations, nurturing and attracting the younger generation, and developing their skills to advance the creative economy.”
Dubai Culture plays a vital role in connecting Dubai citizens, residents and visitors with the Emirate's thriving cultural and creative landscape. By developing advanced solutions and innovative applications, the Authority contributes to highlighting historical, cultural and heritage trends, and promoting cultural events throughout the year. The positive impact of this approach is highlighted by the growing number of event attendees, who in turn share their activities through social media channels and contribute to further raising awareness.
Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai’s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate’s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year. The Authority’s mandate is to build bridges of constructive dialogue between different civilisations and cultures through enriching initiatives that benefit the Emirate’s citizens, residents and visitors.
In addition, all visitors to the Dubai Culture stand will have the chance to win an iPhone 8 and iPhone X device, with lucky winners announced at a draw towards the end of each day at GITEX.
