Commercial companies registered in Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) can operate in mainland Dubai as part of new regulations introduced in free zone in partnership with the Department of Economic Development (DED), Dubai.
Companies interested in expanding their operations in the mainland can do so through a two-step process. First, apply for a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the free zone’s regulator, Dubai Healthcare City Authority – Regulatory (DHCR). And second, obtain a commercial permit from DED.
Commenting on the ongoing partnership, Dr. Ramadan AlBlooshi, Chief Regulatory Officer, Dubai Healthcare City Authority, said, “We work closely with DED to identify initiatives and areas of cooperation that will enhance Dubai’s competitive business environment and strengthen Dubai’s position as a preferred investment destination.”
Several eligible segments such as consultancies and healthcare management companies in DHCC will benefit, added Dr. AlBlooshi, and said, “The commercial permits will support business growth between our free zone and the mainland.”
Omar AlMeheiri, Director of Development and Follow up in the Business Registration & Licensing (BRL) sector, DED, said: “The agreement reflects the shared commitment of the various authorities in Dubai to provide a supportive environment for businesses in line with global best practices and standards. Such co-operation will help achieve the vision of the Government of Dubai in developing the various economic sectors and creating a competitive investment environment capable of positioning the emirate as a global financial and business centre. DED aims to facilitate business licensing procedures for investors through such partnerships”.
