Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority has graduated 63 Emirati students from secondary schools and universities who have completed RTA’s 10th Summer Internship Programme ‘Ajyal’. The programme aims at instilling the values of work & career development in attendees and groom them for the job market upon graduation.
This year’s edition of ‘Ajyal’ included a tour to the Etihad Museum in Dubai and a contest to create awareness about ‘Year of Zayed’, as students were asked to work on presentations narrating the lifetime experience of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. The winners were rewarded with cash prizes.
The program also included training courses and internal visits to RTA’s Achievement Gallery, which highlights key projects accomplished by RTA. It also included external visits to public transit means to familiarize students with the RTA’s services and role in the community.
‘Ajyal’ Programme, which had completed a decade and attracted 700 students, seeks to fill the free time of students by engaging them in constructive tasks that will help them in the future. It makes them versatile in skills and experience by assigning them to a variety of sectors and agencies of RTA. It motivates them to be hard workers and develops in them the concept of team spirit.
