Jordanian And Indian National Wins US$1 Million Each In Dubai Duty Free Million Dollar Draw

Two new dollar millionaires were announced at the Dubai Duty Free (DDF) Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw held today, Tuesday, 27th March in Concourse D Terminal 1 of Dubai International Airport.

A 25-year old Indian national, Dhaneesh Kotharamban, became one of the latest US$1 Million winners, in Series  266 with ticket number 4255  Mr Kotharamban bought his first ever ticket in the million dollar promotion a few weeks ago while traveling to Kerala for a holiday.  A resident of Dubai for a year and a half, he works as an electrician for Craven Electrical Company and was surprised upon receiving a call of a lifetime from DDF representative.

Speaking from Kerala, he commented, “I've never thought that I could win this big at such a young age! Thank God for this wonderful gift and thank you Dubai Duty Free!”

The second Millennium Millionaire winner of the day is Mr. Yazan Qaryouti, who won in Series 267 with ticket number 1090. 

The 34-year old Jordanian national based in Sharjah is a regular participant in the Millennium Millionaire promotion and has purchased around 70 tickets for the past 6 years. He was glad that his perseverance has finally paid off, and said:  “This is the second happiest moment in my life! The first one of course was when I married my beautiful wife. We can’t wait to visit Dubai Duty Free tomorrow to thank all of you for making this happen!”

Mr. Qaryouti who works as General Manager for Sicily International FZE, a marble and granite manufacturing and supplier company, couldn’t contain his excitement along with his wife when they heard of the good news.

Following the draw, the presentation to previous Millennium Millionaire winner in Series 265 with ticket number 0471, also took place.

Mr Prabin Thomas, a 40 year-old Indian national based in Kerala, was flown in from India to receive the giant US$1million ceremonial cheque. Mr. Thomas thanked Dubai Duty Free for its great promotions and for helping him realise his dreams.

Meanwhile, two winners of luxury vehicles were also announced in the Finest Surprise Promotion.

Mr. Nikolaus Andreas Mueller, a German national based in Besigheim, Germany bought his ticket online for Series 1679 with ticket number 1004., winning an Aston Martin DB11 (Morning Frost White).

Another winner was Mr. Prabhu Mahalingan, an Indian national based in Dubai who won a BMW S 1000 RR motorbike (Granite Grey/Black) in Series 330 with ticket number 0686.

Both winners are unavailable for comment and will be pleasantly surprised when they learn of their prizes.

Present at the Dubai Duty Free Millennium Millionaire and Finest Surprise draw was Chief Operating Officer, Ramesh Cidambi, Executive Vice President - Corporate Services, Salah Tahlak, Senior Vice President – Marketing, Sinead El Sibai and Senior Vice President - Retail Support, Michael Schmidt.
