Dubai Land Department (DLD) organised a press conference today announcing hosting the 69th ‘FIABCI World Congress’ in Dubai, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai over six days from 27th April to 2nd May 2018. During the conference, DLD announced that ‘69th FIABCI World Congress’ is expected to attract dignitaries, official delegates and over 1,500 real estate professionals from around 70 countries to exchange views and explore the event’s ‘Happy Cities’ theme.
During his speech to the media at the conference, His Excellency Sultan Butti bin Mejren, Director General of DLD, said: “With the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai has successfully won the bid to host FIABCI in the MENA region for the first time. Dubai has gained the confidence and respect of the global community due to its myriad advantages. These include Dubai’s strategic location between the East and West, convenient air connections, strong transport and communication infrastructure, world-class hotels, and high levels of security and safety, in addition to its proven track record in organizing large international conferences.”
He added: “Hosting this event is a new milestone for Dubai and will serve to enhance our city’s global reputation further. Dubai won the bid thanks to the combined efforts of a number of government entities, with support from the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing, Emirates Airlines and other local partners, reinforcing Dubai's position and reputation as a leading global destination for hosting business events. We are confident that 69th FIABCI World Congress will reflect Dubai's reputation in this field.”
Happy Cities
The International Real Estate Federation is the organiser of the 69th FIABCI World Congress. With over 1.5 million members, it is the world’s oldest and largest real estate association, as well as the only real estate advisory body to the United Nations. 69th FIABCI World Congress hosted in Dubai 2018 will highlight a key theme — ‘Happy Cities’ — with a panel of international experts and global delegates from the real estate sector.
Farook Mahmood, World President of FIABCI & CMD Silverline Group, commented: Dubai hasonce again demonstrated its ability to host a unique and highly reputed conference under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. His astute business acumen has developed Dubai into a global city. The convention will attract many investors and industry stakeholders from around the world. We would like to thank our partners, Dubai Land Department and the Dubai Real Estate Institute for their many contributions, and for all the cooperation they have extended to make this a successful event that surpasses all expectations. Speaking on the facilities and professionalism in Dubai, Farook Mahmood stated that it is on par with the best in the world. I have attended and organized conventions all over the world to promote regional trade and commerce. Dubai is among the most potential markets I have seen. I believe this city has a great future as a business hub in West Asia that the world just cannot transact with.
Their experience in lands, property management and registrations is truly world class and their team’s constant endeavour to improve their overall systems and processes is second to none and will benefit all stakeholders of the real estate industry.
The 69th International Real Estate Congress 2018 will be hosted in partnership between the International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI), the Dubai Real Estate Institute — Dubai Land Department's educational arm — and Dubai Business Events, the Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing’s office for organising conferences. The conference will further strengthen Dubai’s position as an attractive investment destination and also highlight the real estate sector, which is characterised by continuous development, innovation and efficient regulatory procedures.
The International Real Estate Federation (FIABCI) has worked closely with the United Nations since 1954. It is the only international real estate federation to act in a consultative non-governmental organisation on the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC).
