On March 24, The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC invites guests to join in celebrating the annual global event of Earth Hour from 8.30 pm to 9.30 pm, raising awareness on sustainability issues on the planet. The initiative, founded by the World Wildlife Fund for Nature (WWF), is the largest environment awareness movement in the world with millions of communities taking part each year, and gives everyone the opportunity to make a positive impact towards resource management.
The Ritz-Carlton, DIFC will participate by switching off non-essential lights and lighting up the public areas with candles in decorated paper bags, hand-crafted by the Ritz-Carlton Ladies and Gentlemen. Children and adults alike will also be invited to take part in the initiative by seizing the opportunity to disconnect from technology and reconnect with family, while showing their creativity in crafting flower vases, pencil holders and paper lanterns from old newspapers recycled from guest rooms. The Ritz Kids Crafting Workshop (Art in the Dark) will commence from 8:30 to 9:30pm in the hotel lobby, complimentary for all in-house guests.
Environment responsibility is a key pillar of Community Footprints, the company's social and environmental responsibility programme embraced by the brand's properties around the world.
