Dubai Land Department (DLD) has successfully participated at MIPIM, the world's leading international real estate conference, which was held at the Cannes Festival Palace in Cannes, France from 13th to 16th March 2018. DLD held several successful meetings with the exhibition organisers to discuss future cooperation and DLD’s continued participation over the coming years.
The conference was an opportunity for DLD’s delegation to host meetings with investors from major companies that are interested in Dubai’s real estate market. DLD representatives visited several pavilions to learn more about the offers presented by other countries and their successful experiences, as well as the pavilions of developers from Dubai and the UAE to show their support.
Her Excellency Majida Ali Rashid, Assistant Director General and Head of the Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Center — the investment arm of DLD — commented: “Our participation at MIPIM underscored our commitment to promoting our real estate sector on the global stage and learning from the experiences of other countries in this field. In addition to promoting Dubai's attractive real estate environment, we also accompanied local developers to support their participation in this prestigious international event, which attracts real estate and investment professionals from all over the world and serves as a major platform for all investors, companies and any individual interested in the real estate market. MIPIM gave us a chance to interact with them, understand their needs, and present Dubai as the world's leading real estate destination for innovation, confidence and happiness.”
Majida added: “Our meetings focused on enhancing cooperation to attract more real estate developers from Dubai and enhance their opportunities to participate at MIPIM. Ultimately, this will help them to benefit from the exhibition and promote Dubai’s attractive real estate environment under DLD’s umbrella.”
The Real Estate Investment Management Centre team was given the opportunity to visit major real estate companies and view their various projects.
Majida Added: "We were also keen to visit UAE companies participating in the conference, including Meydan and Nakheel, to see the benefits and opportunities they were offering. It was also important for us to discuss DLD’s participation in the coming editions as a government umbrella that supports the participation of developers from Dubai. MIPIM praised DLD’s effective participation and the impact it had on strengthening real estate promotion and attracting investors to international events and exhibitions of this sort.”
DLD’s presence at the exhibition reflects the department’s keenness to take part in the most important international forums in the real estate sector, helping it to highlight its role of encouraging real estate investments through the Real Estate Investment Management and Promotion Centre. By appearing at international events, DLD aims to promote Dubai as the leading real estate destination in the world through appropriate promotions that increase the number of real estate investors across all categories in Dubai.
MIPIM is one of the world's largest and most popular exhibitions. It attracts more than 26,000 visitors from around the world and is an important investment opportunity, as well as a benchmark for other similar real estate conferences.
