Celebrate Chinese New Year across world-class destinations by Meraas. Usher in the Year of the Dog at City Walk, The Beach, Boxpark, The Outlet Village, Al Seef, and La Mer with an exciting schedule of entertainment and events from 15 to 28 February 2018.
With Dubai being home to over 270,000 Chinese residents, the city is also fast emerging as the preferred tourist destination for China.
In the spirit of the festival, all venues will be transported into an oriental wonderland with radiant Chinese lanterns and similar themed décor from the Middle Kingdom setting the stage. Adding to the festive vibe is a packed schedule of family-friendly entertainment, that includes scintillating dances, enthralling face changing shows and high-octane drama.
The eye-catching Qipao dance, and the Han & Tang show which presents traditional theatre and dance performances are a definite must-see, for children, Kung Fu Tea Master, Lion Dance and Drum Dance will be a visual treat. Catch the live shows every weekend from 4pm.
Culture Parade
A highlight of the festivities is the exclusive cultural parade at City Walk that will feature over 1,500 participants, representing 20 Chinese provinces through their traditional music and dance performances. The inaugural spectacle is in partnership with the Consulate General of China and Dubai Police. Catch the action at City Walk on 16 February at 4pm.
Fashion Show
Pulling out all the stops, City Walk will also host an exclusive fashion show in partnership with China Kids Moda. On the catwalk, will be shows by renowned Chinese designers, including Judy Fan, To be @ Thrill, Amelie Wang, Wannabebe, Nancy Vuu, D-Harry, Beautyberry, Sunhaitao, Dorm, HONGSTAR KIDS. The show will be held on 27 and 28 February.
Red Parcels
In keeping with traditions, the destinations will surprise Chinese visitors with custom-designed red parcels in Mandarin. The parcels will contain special dining, retail and entertainment offers which can be redeemed across all Meraas destinations, including its food and beverage, and leisure and entertainment outlets, as well as Dubai Parks and Resorts. The parcel can be availed at customer service counters across all participating venues.
For the benefit of non-Chinese tourists and residents, the package deal will also be available through an English digital app, Red Fortune. The Red Fortune app also includes the same offers and packages as the Mandarin parcels.
Spend & Win
Shoppers who spend AED300 or more using a UnionPay card at the destinations’ retail and dining outlets, will be entered into a raffle draw for a chance to win AED10,000, daily. The spend-and-win element has been added in partnership with UnionPay, China’s preferred credit card provider. All points of sale across the venues accept payments made via UnionPay cards.
Tour Packages
During the festivities, tourists and residents can avail exclusive tour packages that are customized to provide them with the best experiences across Meraas destinations. The tour packages have been added in partnership with Hunter Tourism, the city’s preferred tour operators. The exclusive package will include visits to The Outlet Village and Dubai Parks and Resorts. A complete tour of City Walk, comprising of all its anchor retail stores such as Level Kids, Le BHV Marais, Boutique Le Chocolat for an exclusive chocolate making session, for children trips to Hub Zero, The Green Planet, and Mattel Play! Town will also be included. Additionally, the tour bundle will include a heritage journey to Al Seef, as well as a combo visit to La Mer, Boxpark, and The Beach. The tour package can be availed at customer service counters across all participating venues.
