“The overall objective of joining the WORLD DRONE PRIX 2016 as the official transport partner is to support newly-emerging sports. This one-million dollar prize championship is intended to reinvigorate the concept of innovation, as Dubai seeks to become an innovation hub at all levels,” said Yousef Al Rida, CEO of RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector. “The move also reflects RTA’s keen attention to realize its objectives and strategic drive to promote innovation and keep pace with the fast-paced contemporary world,” he added.
“The WORLD DRONE PRIX features the participation of as many as 32 teams hailing from 19 countries, following qualification rounds held in five countries, namely the United States, Germany, Japan, Canada, and South Korea,” added Al Rida. “Unlike the previous local and regional events, this is a competition for teams rather than individuals; and will be held in a circuit rather than open spaces in keeping with the rules and regulations endorsed by Dubai in this regard,” continued Al Rida.
“The RTA plays a key role in supporting sports related events in Dubai in particular and the UAE in general in in line with its social responsibility aimed at supporting events in the interest of the community at large,” concluded the CEO of RTA’s Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector.
