The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced the completion works in the second and final stage of the main traffic diversion at Al Houdh R/A, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road. The detour, which extends 2.8 km on the Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road (both directions) and 1.5 km on Al Yalayis Road, is set for opening early April this year.
“The traffic heading towards the existing Al Houdh R/A from all directions would be diverted to a mini signalized R/A in order to complete roads works in the surrounds of the flyover, which is expected to be completed in the last quarter of this year,” said Engineer Maitha bin Adai, CEO of Traffic & Roads Agency, RTA.
She emphasized the importance of maintaining the same number of the existing traffic lanes without affecting the scope of the project for the safety of road users and the smooth traffic flow in the area. Maitha called on road users to be attentive, observe signs in place and adhere to the speed limits for their safety in line with RTA’s vision of Safe & Smooth Transport for All.
